WHEREAS, Frank Barrett has been an ardent booster and believer in the
City of Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, Frank Barrett has been involved in countl.ess Saint Paul civic
and promotional pro3ects over the years, and
WHEREAS, Frank Barrett is recognized as one of the great all-around
athletes and sportsmen in Saint Paul's history, and
WHEREAS, in addition to his personal athletic accomplishments, he has
been an inspiration and guide to hundreds of young ath].etes, and
WHEREAS, he was one of the original founders of the Saint Paul Minutemen
who worked tirelessly to .bring ma�or league sports to the Twin Cities
and Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, his generous gifts of his time, talents, energy and person
have made Saint Pau1 a prouder place to live for a11 of us, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Minutemen are sponsoring a Frank Barrett Recognition
and Appreciation Concert on July 23 to recognize his many contributions
to the City of Saint Paul and its citizens, now therefore be it,
RESOLVED, that the Ma.yor, the City Council, and the City of Saint Paul
does hereby proclaim Monday, July 23, 1979, to be called: FRANK BARRETT
DAY IN SAINT PAUL.
