WHEREAS, The St. Paul City Council approved submission of the St. Paul Neighborhood
Team Policing grant application in Resolution #270797 on March 28, 1978; and
WHEREAS, St. Paul has applied to the Minnesota Crime Control Planning Board for an
LEAA grant for the project known as St. Paul Neighborhood Team Policing to be implemented
by the St. Paul Police Department from July 1 , 1979 through December 31 , 1979; and
' WHEREAS, The St. Paul Neighborhood Team Policing project decentralizes the St. Paul
Police De�artment and improves police relations with the St. Paul citizenry; and
t�lHE�tEAS, The Minnesota Crime Control Planning Board has approved an LEAA grant in
the amount of $192,182 for this proj�ct, to be match by $10,677 in State (LAC) funds and
$117,808 local funds; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, That the St. Paul City Council hereby accepts the grant award for the
project entitled St. Paul Neighborhood Team Policing; and Be It Further
RESOLVED, That the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to execute such
agreements as are necessary to accept the grant award and to implement the project; and
Be It Further -
� RESOLVED, That the twenty (20) page grant agreement is made a part hereof by
reference and is on file in the office of the St. Paul Finance Department; and Be It
Further
RESOLVED, That authorization is hereby granted to provide $117,808 as local
match funds for the purpose of operating this project from account number 34100, Police
Consolidation and Management.

SUBJECT: �lcceptance of LEAA Grant Aa�ard, Team Policing, grant period July
1, 1979 to December 31, 1979.
The Minnesota Crime Control Planninq Board has forwarded a proposed grant
award contract to St. Paul for this 1979 project. St. Paul must agree to
the proposed contract before the grant funds are disbursed. This memorandum
is designed to assist you in making an informed decision on whether to accept
the grant award.
A. St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council staff, in
its review, recommends that the St. Paul City Council accept this grant
award.

$30 - 50,000/ yr. for operation of six Team Unit office sites. The
on-going costs of 18 police officers also could be a factor.
