The meeting was called to order at 11:22 a.m.
STAFF PRESENT: Corinne Asuncion, LIEP (License, Inspections, Environmental Protecfion);
Jeff Hawkins, LIEP; Kristine Schweinler, LIEP
Gerry StraUunan stated this meeting is being held to heaz objections to the issuance of licenses
far Twin Cities Avanti Stores, doing business as Oasis Markets, at 2525 Seventh Street West.
Kristine Schweinler reported that LIEP's recommendation is for approval of this license
application. The licenses being applied for are Gas Station, Ma1t Off Sale, Restaurant, Liquid
Fuel Dealer, Grocery, Cigarette/Tobacco, and Alann Permit.
Mr. Stratlunan stated the complainant is not here. A letter was written by Katherine M. Hanson,
1710 Sheridan Avenue.
Scott Stevens, President of Oasis Mazkets and Twin Cities Avanti Stores, appeared and stated
that Ms. Hanson's issue is with two employees that were shot. The business was a Total
Petroleum at that time. He fmds it hard to believe that the PA system can be heard a block down
the road, as Ms. Hanson writes in her letter. The music systems have been turned down at these
facilities.
In Paragraph 3 of this letter, states Mr. Stevens, alcohoi and food sales are a concern for the
writer. These sales are currently going on at this site. He does not think it will increase traffic
because it is ongoing. He is taking over ownership of a fully run business. They will try to make
the business better.
Mr. Strathman stated that Ms. Hanson refers to further expansion. Mr. Stevens responded there
are no plans of expanding.
Mr. Strathman asked were the licenses that aze being applied for already currently here. Ms.
Schweinler responded yes. There is no change.
Gerry Strathman recommended approval of the license applicarion.
