The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the above improvement, due notice
thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

Re: Proposed Water main Installation in Hazelwood Street and Omaban Street
from Case Avenue to Cul-de-sac at end of each street
Dear Mr. Carlson:
The Board of Water Commissioners has recommended the installation of a pubTic
water main in the above referenced street. Attached please find a copy o£ Board
Resolution 2874 and copies of the plan and petition for this improvement.
It is requested that the Department of Finance bring this matter before the
Council for public hearing. _
If there are any questions concerning this project, please contact Mr. Bernie
Bullert or Mr. William Tschida of our Engineering Staff.

The Board of Water Commissioners has received a petition for the installation of a public
water main oa Hazel.wood Street fror,► Case �lvenu�: t-o the cul-de-s�c North of Case Avenue
-' and on Omaban Street from Case Avenue to the cul-de-sac North of Case Avenue; and
��1H�RrAS, The Saint Paul Departr,►ent of Public Worlcs has received a petition for a grading�
paving and sewer improvement pzoject on said Ilazelwood an3 Omaban Streets; and '
WHEREAS� The Saint Paul :�later Utility s�aff has reviewcd the petitioned improvement and
recrn�nends the fnstallatian of water mains and their appurtenances contin�ent upon said
gradino project; such installations to extend Northerly in Hazelwood Street from the
existing water rsain in Case Avenue to the cul-de-sac and Northerly in Omaban Street from
the existing water main in Case Avenue to the cul-de-aac; and
WHEREAS� The total estimated costs for the z•�ater main improvement on Haze2wood Street
including construction, engineering, inspection and administration costs are $13,450.04
and the estiraated� rate per assessable foot determined by the Valuation and Assessment
� Engfr,eer is $12.70 per fo�t for residential proper�;r; and, t;�e estimated financing is
$7�080.00 fram assessments and $6,370.00 frrnu �dater Utility Aid; and
i,1HERcA.S� The total estimated costs for the water main improvement on Omaban Street includ-
ing construction� engineering, inspection and aca:linistration costs are $10�775.00 and
the estimated rate per assessable foot deternined by tha Valuation and Assessment Engineer
is ,�11.30 per foot for residential property; and, the estimated financing is $6�430.00
from assessments and $4,345.00 from Water Utility Aid; now, therefore� be it
RESOLVED� That the Board of Warer C . �issioners recarmaends to the Honorable City Counci2
of Saint Paul that a public water main be instaZled in Hazelwood Street fram Case Avenue .
to the cul-de-sac lv'orth of Case Avenae a:zd on Omaban Street fram Case Avenue to th� cul-
de-sac North o£ Case Avenue contingent up�n and in conjunctzon with the petitioned grading
project being recommended by the Honorable City Council of Saint Paul and that th� in-
stallation and paycnent therefor� in whole o� in part by means of a special assessment, be
deemed a local inprovement and be ordered and made in accordance with the provisions of
Chapter 13 of the City Charter.
