thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, therefore, be it �
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

ADVISABILITY AND DESIRABILITY
PROJECT:
Improve HAZELWOOD STREET from Case Avenue to the proposed cul-de-sac 300' north
of Case by grading, paving, constructing curb and gutter and constructing storm
water drainage facilities. Also improving OMABAN STREET from Case to the pro-
posed cul-de-sac 245' north of Case by grading, paving, constructing curb and
gutter and constructing storm water drainage facilities. Project No. P-0787.
Opening and widening Hazetwood, creating a cul-de-sac by taking and condemning a
permanent easement for street purposes on, over and across the following described
land:
Except for existing ptatted Hazelwood, that part of Blk. 4, Oak Park and
Blk. 6, Ames Outlots lying withln the arc of a circle havtng a 60' radius,
the center of said circle being on the centerline of Hazelwood and 276.5'
north of the north line of Case.
Also, taking and condemning an easement in the land necessary for the slopes, cuts
and fills, including right of removal of lateral support from subject land or
remainder thereof, occasioned by excavations thereof or construction of slopes in
the grading and paving of Hazelwood from Case to the proposed cul-de-sac 276.5'
north of Case.
Also, opening and widening Omaban, creating a cul-de-sac by taking and condemning
a permanent easement for street purposes, on, over and across the following des-
cribed land: �

of Case. Also, constructing water main in Omaban from Case to the proposed cul-

INITIATING ACTION:
This project is being initiated at the request of two developers who own approxi-
mately 1/2 of the abutting property.
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
Both of these streets are unimproved. Hazelwood was rough graded several years
ago and one property owner is using the street as access to his garage.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS:
The proposal is to pave these streets with bituminous material , construct curb and
gutter, sanitary sewer, water main and house service connections.
ALTERNATES: '
Do Nothing. This alternate woutd not cause any problems but it would prevent the
property from being developed with new homes.
TIME SCHEDULE:
If this project is approved, construction could begin the summer of 1979 and be
completed by fall of 1979•
