CITY OF SAINT PAUL
INTERDEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM
October 25, 1979
TO: COUNCIL PRESIDENT JOANNE SHOWALER, AND
MEMBERS OF THE CTTY COUNCIL
FR: MAYOR GEORGE LATIMER
RE: HIRING OF INFORMATION AND COMPLAINT OFFICER
As you are aware, Alice Murphy will be taking a leave of
absence as the City' s Information and Complaint Officer
in order to coordinate the new Energy Program. I am
recommending that we appoint Darlene Guy to the position
in Alice' s absence.
Darlene has served as Alice ' s number one staff person over
the last three years and is well qualified for the position.
The easiest way to designate Alice Murphy as the City's
Energy Coordinator is to appoint her as an Administrative
AideIII in the Mayor' s Office. The position is, of course,
fully funded with Northwest Area Foundation funds for the
duration. The position will automatically terminate upon the
expiration of the Foundation grant. Placing Alice in an
Administrative Aide III position will protect her City
employee benefits.
