RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CITY COUNCIL
REPRESENTATIVE ON THE DOWNTOWN PEOPLE
MOVER STEERING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement, approved April 25, 1977,
C. F. 268932, between the City of Saint Paul and the Metropolitan
Transit Commission (MTC) established a Steering Committee to
implement policy and to direct the preliminary design and infor-
mation stage of the Downtown People Mover Transit System; and
WHEREA�, said Agreement, as amended by legislative direction
contained in Section 45, Chapter 454, Laws of Minnesota 1977,
approved June 9, 1977, designated the membership of said Steering
Committee, including the President of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the President of the City Courieil, with City Council
concurrence, desires to designate another Council member to
represent the Council on the Steering Committee. '
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Saint Paul that the designation of Councilmember David H. Hozza
as the official representative of the City Council on the Down-
town People� Mover Steering Committee, with the MTC, the Urban Mass
Transit Administration (UMTA) , and other agencies and bodies,
acting for the Council President, is hereby approved.
RESOLVED FURTHER that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
transmit copies of this Resolution to the Chairman of MTC and
the Administrator of UMTA.
