WHEREAS, the City, through its designated representatives, has met and conferred in order to establish the terms and conditions of employment for the calendar years of 1980 and 1981 for such personnel as are set forth in the "Memorandum of Understanding"; and WHEREAS, a 1980..1981 "Memorandum of Understanding" has been reached which includes a 1980-1981 salary adjustments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the "Memorandum of Understanding" cited above, dated as of the effective date of this Resolution, on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby approved, and the authorized administrative officials of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute said "Memorandum of Understanding" on behalf of the City. This section of the Memorandum of Understanding shall. apply to the Civic Center Stage Employees holding the following titles: Grips Head Flyman � Lamp Operator Propertyman Stage Carpenter . Stage Electrician 1. When an employee is called to work he/she shall receive two hours' pay if not put to work. If he/she is called to work and commences work, he/she shall be guaranteed four hours' pay. These provisions, however, shall not be effect- ive when work is unable to proceed because of adverse weather conditions; nor shall these provisions apply to temporary or emergency employees nor to employees employed under any of the titles listed under the heading "Special Employments"; nor to any person whose regularly scheduled workday is less than four hours. 3. Effective December 29, 1979, when fouz department heads, i.e. , the Head Flyman, the Propertyman, the Stage Carpenter, and the Stage Electrician, are repre- sented on the same performance, hourly services for these four employees rendered between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $8.56 per hour; and hourly services rendered between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $17.1Z per hour. Effective January 3, 1981, when four department heads, i.e. , the Head Flyman, the Propertyman, the Stage Carpenter, and the Stage Electrician, are repre- sented on the same perfo�ance, hourly services for these four employees rendered between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $9. 16 per hour; and hourly servicPs rendered between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $18,32 per hour. � � � �� �� �r � �.� .� Page 2 Civic Center Memorandum 4. Effective December 29, 1979, hourly services rendered by employees in the title of Grips between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $7.76 per hour and hourly services rendered between 12:00 mid- night and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $15.52 per hour. Effective January 3, 1981, hourly services rendered by employees in the title of Grips between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight shall be compensated at the rate of $8.30 per hour and hourly services rendered between I2:00 mid- night and 8:00 a.m. shall be compensated at the rate of $16.60 per hour. B. This sectiori of the blemorandum of Understanding shall apply to the employees of the City of Saint Paul employed in the title of Stage Technician. The employees employed in the aforementioned title shall receive the following salary and fringe improvements: 1. Wages: a. Effective December 29, 1979, a salary increase of 7% (seven percent). b. Effective January 3, 1981, a salary increase of 7� (seven percent) . 2. The Employer will provide for employees who retire after the time of approval of this Memorandum and until such employees reach s�ty-five (65) years of age such health insurance benefits and life insurance benefits as are provided by the Employer for such employees. In order to be eligible for the benefits under this early retiree provision, the employee must: 2.1 Be receiving benefits from a Public Employee Retirement Act. 2.2 Have severed his relationship with the City of Saint Paul under one of the early retiree plans. 3. For each eligible employee covered by this Memorandum who selects Blue Cross- Blue Shield insurance coverage, the City agrees to contribute the cost of such coverage or $36.85 per month, whichever is less. In addition, for each employee who selects Blue Cross-Blue Shield dependent's coverage, the City wilZ contribute 50% of the cost of such dependent's coverage or $42.43 per month, whichever is less. 4. For each eligible employee covered by this rfemorandum who selects Group Health insurance coverage, the City agrees to contribute the cost of such coverage or $36.85 per month, whichever is less. In addition, for each employee who selects Group Health dependent's coverage, the City will contribute 50% of the cost of such dependent's coverage or $35.93 per month, whichever is less. "� , . For each eligible employee covered by this Memorandum who selects Coordinated Care Health insurance coverage, the City agrees to contribute the cost of such coverage or $36.85 per month, whichever is less. In addition, for each employee wha selects Coordinated Care Health dependent's coverage, the Cit.y will contri- bute 50% of the cost of such dependent's coverage or $35.29 per month, Gzhichever is less. The contributions indicated in Items 3, 4 and 5 shall be paid to the City's group health and welfare plan. Any increase in these costs shall be paid by the employee. 6. The City agrees to contribute the cost for $5,000 of Life Insurance Coverage for each employee who is eligible for such coverage or $2.95 per month, which- ever amount is less. This contribution shall be paid to the City's Group Health and Welfare Plan. Any increase in this cost shall be paid by the employee. 7. Effective January 1, 1980, the figures in Items 3, 4, 5 and 6 abone will be increased in dollars to reflect the difference between the 1979 premium rates and the 1980 premium rates for the respective coverages. 8. Qn January 1, 1981 the figures as adjusted in accordance with Item 7 above shall be increased in dollars to reflect the difference between the 1980 premium rates and the 1981 premium rates for the respective coverages. 9. In addition to the $5,000 Life Insurance Coverage in Item 6 above, the City agrees to contribute the cost of additional life insurance coverage or $ .59 per thousand dollars of coverage per month, whichever amount is less. The total amount of life insurance coverage provided under this Item, and Item 6 above, for each empZoyee shall be equal to the employee's annual salary rpunded down to the nearest full thousand dollars. For the purpose of this section, the employee's annual salary shall be based on the salary as of the beginning of a contract period. This contribution shall be paid to the City's Group Health and Welfare Plan.
