WHEREAS, The United States Olympic Hockey Team was awarded the
Gold Medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics, and
WHEREAS, they showed great spirit and determination in achieving
this goal, and
WHEREAS, the United States Olympic Hockey Team, of which the
majority of players are from the University of Minnesota, reawakened
the patriotism and pride of the American people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the citizens of St. Paul, Minnesota, express to
the coach, Herb Brooks, and all the members of the United States Olympic
Hockey Team their heartfelt thanks and congratulations for their great
accomplishment.
