and class specificat�.on for Housing Information
Coordinator in the Civil Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended i.n Section
3. K (Professional-Administrative 5upervisors Group), by inserting the
title of Housing Information Coordinator in Grade 9; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the
attached class specification for Housing Information Coordinator.

HOUSING INFORPSATION COORDINATOR
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Performs responsible work directing and
coordinating the work of the Housing Information Office; acts as contract
administrator for housing-related, City-funded programs; and performs
related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the general direction of the Mayor and
City Council.
Supervision F�cercised: F,xercises within a unit supervision over para-
professional, volunteer and clerical workers.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMID
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by al.l positions in
this class.
Iiires, assigns, trains and evaluates volunteer and certified staff of the
Sousing Information Office.
Sets up and supervises office procedures.
Maintains records, develops statistical data and provides information to
policy makers, developers and the general public regarding all matters
related to housing.
Reviews and selects written ma.terials to provide staff and client� with
housing info�ation.
Monitors activity regarding all aspects of housing in the City of Saint Paul.
Prepares grant proposals, budget proposals and staffing proposals for the
Housing Information Office and for contracting agencies.
Monitors the status of contracted services and prepares reports and
evaluations regarding them. •
Publicizes the services provided by the Houaing Information Office through
public appearances and written materials.
Develops and proposes adoption of housing policies based on research and
data gathered by the Housing Information Office.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working ability to plan and direct the work of subordinates.
Working knowledge of housing resources available in the community.
Considerable ability to develop effective working relationships with
public officials, agency heads and community groups.
Considerable ability to develop, prepare and present reports and
recommendations.
Considerable ability to organize and coordinate the work of a small staff.
Considerable ability to co�unicate both orally and in writing.
MINIl�NM QUALIFICATIONS
College graduation and four years' experience as a community organizer,
housing counselor or social worker, at least two years of which must
have involved supervisory and adninistrative responsibility. (Approved
qualifying experience may be substituted for education.)
