1 WHEREAS, Public Works and Mayor Norm Coleman propose the construction of a gondola from
2 the top of the River Center Parking Ramp to the top of the floodwail on Harriet isfand, and

4 WHEREAS, the total cost of construction for the gondola is approximately $4.5 million dollars, and

6 WHEREAS, $1,250,000 of funding will be provided by Doppelmayr of Austria and $250,000 by
7 other private investors for a total initiaf investmen of $1,500,000.

9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorize Public
10 Works to seek federal government funding from the U. S. Department of Transportation for ful{ or
11 partial funding for the remaining $3 million dollars needed to finance the project.
