An ordinance repealing certain obsolete
chapters of the St. Paul Legislative Code per-
taining to railroads: Chapters 164, 165 and 166.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That the following listed chapters of the St. Paul
Legislative Code be and the same hereby are repealed:
164 - Bells and �histles of Locomotives
165 - Switch Engine Crews
166 - Boarding and Leaving Moving Railroad Cars
Section 2.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30
days from and after its passage, approval and publication.

164. BELLS AND WHISTLES OF LOCOMOTIVES . .
164.01. Restrictions. It shall be unlawful to ring any bell on,
or sound the whistle of, any railroad �ocomotive within the limits of
the City of St. Paul, except as a warning against immediate threat-
ened danger,.and only upon starting an engine.

165. SWITCH ENGINE CBEWS
165.01. To promote the safety and welfare of employes oper-
ating switch-engines ox� transfer engines in the City of Saint Paul,
and to protect and promote the public safety at all places within
said City wher� railroads cross streets and avenues at grade, no
� person, corporation, trustee, receive or other court officer shall oper-
j ate or cause to be.op�rated on any railroad within said City any
( switch-engine, fuel-electric switch-engine, or other mechanically oper-
ated switch-engine unless such engine shall be manned with a crew
of not less than one engineer or operator and one firema,n or helper.
2. Each day that any such engine shall be run in violation of
the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed a separate offense.
