275626 WNITE - CITY CLERK �5626 PINK - FINANCE CANARY - DEPARTMENT C I TY O F SA I-NT ��U L COUIICII BLUE ,� MAYOR � File N . � At�y�� ncil Resolution Presented By '� Referred To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, private development of a substantial new hotel facility at the site of the old auditorium and theater adjacent to the Civic Center, has been endorsed by the Civic Center Commission; and WHEREAS, the City as owner of the site is interested in reuse development compatible with and complimentary to the Civic Center complex usage which would provide employment opportunity, enhance the tax base and strengthen the overall economy of the area; and WHEREAS, public actions necessary to make the site avail- able for and undertakings necessary to accomplish redevelopment need to be explored and an implementation plan formulated if such redevelopment is to occur; and WHEREAS, it is desireable that these several activities be coordinated and responsibility for their accomplishment fixed in the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Saint Paul that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, is hereby authorized and directed: 1. To grant tentative developer status to a responsible private developer. 2. To investigate disposition methods, site preparation needs, and other public actions necessary or desire- able to accomplish redevelopment.
