00-943OR1GlNAL Presented By Referred To RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MIlVNESOTA Council File # OO�R�13 Green Sheet # _10364 �a Committee: Date 1 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul through Council Resolution File No. 2 267621 adopted July 27, 1916, has established rules foz determining eligibility of City 3 employees, retirees, eazly refirees, dependents and survivors to participate in comprehensive 4 health insurance programs and other City benefits; and WHEI2EAS, over the years, Council Resolution File No. 267621 has been amended to address issues raised by staff and make changes deemed necessary by the Council; and 9 WH�REAS, the City of Saint Paul has recently entered into an agreement regarding the 10 management of the RiverCentre with the Saint Paul tlrena Company, L.L.C., a Minnesota 11 Limited Liability Company (hereinafter "SPAC") effective July 1, 2000; and 12 13 WHEREAS, certain City employees previously working at the RiverCentre were offered 14 and accepted employment with SPAC as a result of the change in management of the 15 RiverCentre; and WHEREAS, the status of all classified City employees who were working at the RiverCentre on 7une 30, 2000, has been resolved through negotiation and prior council action including what would happen to their City benefits if they were to return to City employment by a date certain; and WHEREAS, there has been no resolution of the status of any unclassified City employees working at the RiverCentre on 7une 30, 2000, with regard to their status if they were to return to City employment; and WHEItEAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul desires to resolve any outstanding issues pertaining to health insurance and benefits for any long term unclassified employees who worked at the RiverCentre prior to July l, 2000, in the event they were to retum to City employment in a certified tide; and NOW THEREFORE BE TT .
