RE: Claim of Lorraine Pillis and Joseph Pillis
against the City of Saint Paul
A stop sign was down at the corner of Hyacinth and Forest Avenues
on the Eastside. The driver on Hyacinth either forgot about
the stop sign or never knew that it ha.d been there and struck
the Pillis car which was on the through street. The City's
liability is minimal. However, the case has been settled in
large part by the insurance carrier of the driver Hallsten,
and this office felt it was provident to make a contribution
of $500 to avoid further expense and possible exposure.
