An ordinance pertaining to requirements for
electrical outlets in dwellings and multiple
dwellings; amending Section 54. 14 of the St. Paul
Legislative Code.
THE COUNCIL OF THE GITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That Section 54. 14, paragraph e. of the St. Paul
Legislative Gode be and the same hereby is amended to read:
e. Electrical Outlets Required. Every habitable
room 120 s uare feet or less in area of a dwelling
or multip e we ing sha con ain at least two
separate and remote duplex outlets a��-��,e�-��}e�
�a�-�e-a-s����}e�-ee��}�g-e�-sva��-��e-e�ee���e
�}g�#-������e. An additional duplex outlet shall
be required for each additional 80 square feet of
area or less.
In kitchens three separate and remote wall-type
e�ee���e-oe��e��e�ee-e���e��s-e�-��,re-e�e�-ee��e��e�ee
e���e�s-���-e�e-ee��}�g-e�-�r���-#3�e-e�ee����-�}�k�
������e duplex convenience outlets shall be required.
Every public hall, water closet compartment, bathroom,
laundry room or furnace room shall contain at least
one electric light fixture. In addition to the
electric light fixtures in every bathroom and
laundry room there shall be provided at least
one electric outlet.

from and after its passage, approval and publication.
Section 3,
This ordinance shall be deemed a part of the Saint Paul
Legislative Gode and shall be incorporated therein and given
an appropriate chapter and�or section number at the time of
the next revision of the said Legislative Code.

equivalent encoura�es the use of extension cords. - Many are run
under� rugs , �acked �to baseboards , etc. creating. hazardous conditions.
Rooms larg�r than 120 square feet have a need for additional
outlets to reduce the need for long extension cords.
