Pledging support of the City of St. Paul in the United
States Savings Bond Program and urging participation by
City employees in the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan
Whereas , The United States Savings Bond Program continues
to play an important role in the financing of our govern-
ment and in the sound management of the Public debt; and
Whereas , By promoting thrift, the Savings Bond Program
contributes to the economic security of individual fami-
lies and helps to control inflationary pressures; now,
the re fo re,
Be lt Resolved, By the City Council of the City of Saint
Paul : That it reaffirms its continuous support of the
United States Savings Bond Program in general and of the
Automatic Payroll Savings Plan in specific, and urges
all City employees to participate in this thrift-oriented
program.
Be It Further Resolved, That the Mayor and all Depart- .
ment heads be urged to assume a role of leadership during
the Eighth Annual United States Savings Bond Campaign
for City employees in May, so the employees may be made
aware of this opportunity to join the plan.
