RESOLVED, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to execute an Agreement with Independent School District
No. 625 providing for the coordination of the presentation and di-
rection of the Community Education Program; a copy of said Agreement
to be kept on file and of record in the Department of Finance and
Management Services.

THIS AGREE1�iENT, Dated this day of , 1980
by and between the City of Saint Paul , hereinafter called "City" , and
Independent School District No. 625, hereinafter called "District" ;
WITNESSETH:
_ WHEREAS, The City and District are jointly involved in and
have prganized a Community Education Program;� and
�9HEREAS, The City and District intend that the program should
be jointly staffed and organized by the City and District and presented
in the facilities of both parties; and
WHEREAS, The District has funding available for and committed
to the Community Education program; and
WHEREAS, The City and District are desirous of coordinating
' the presentation an�i direction of educational, recreationaL, and
• cultural programs for all social and economic groups residing within
the corporate borders of both the City and District , and
WHEREAS, Joint cooperation in a community education program
will result in considerable savings of public funds by limiting
duplication of staff and services in the presentation of a communit3�
education program, now therefore ,
IT IS 11�UTUALLY AGREED BET`VEEN THE PARTIES AS FOLLOjVS :
1. That the City will hire and pay such additional CommunitS�
Education/Recreation Coordinators as the City and District determine
are needed to supervise and direct the various aspects of the Co►nmunity
Education Program. '
2. That the City c��ill retain such other personnel as needed
. to provide for the full and complete performance of the program's
objective. '

3. That the City will provide such educational supplies
and materials as are needed for the proper presentation and conduct
of the program's classes provided that the District is unable to
. provide the needed supplies. �
4. That the City will pay 14� per mile to personnel
- who use their automobiles in connection with the program's classes
to a maximum of $60. 00 per month.
5. That the District shall be responsible for the
maintenance and operational costs, exclusive of personnel , for such
f acilities as may be used in the Community Education Program.
6. That the City sha11 haQe the right to select and hire,
with the apnroval of the District , a Supervisor for the Community
Education/Recreation Program and such staff of the City and District
furnished to the Community Education/Recreation Program shall work

under the Supervisor's direction and control . '
7. That the Supervisor shall be responsible for personnel
decisions, budgets , plans and programs involved in the administration
and implementation of the Community Education/Recreation Program. -
8. That in consideration of the benefits to the District
because of the services to be provided, the District agrees to
reimburse the City for such personnel, 50% of total personnel costs
and 100�Jo of the total supplies, mileage costs and other expenditures
- incurred by the City because of the program and as the City shall bill
the District on a Quarterly basis.
9. That the District shall save and hold harmless from any
and all claims of whatever kind that may arise from the City ' s use
of the District 's buildings and grounds excepting for those claims
attributable to the negligence of the City.

10. That either party may terminate this Agreement upon
six months written notice to the other party.
