The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the above improvement, due notice
thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

ADVISABILITY AND DESIRABILITY
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK West side of GROTTO STREET from Wheelock Parkway to
West ivy Avenue.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was i�itiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petition with 6 signers representing 82� of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with tree heaves, asphalt patches,
cracked concrete panels� scaled, tipped and settled panels.
PROJECT: RECOPJSTRUCT SIDEWALK North side of 41EST MONTANA AVENUE from Chatsworth Street
to Oxford Street.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petition with 3 signers representing 20� of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with tree heaves, high joints ,
cracked concrete panels and scaled panels.

water pockets , asphait patches , cracked concrete panels, scaled and tipped panels.

Street.
INITIATING ACTIOtJ: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a complaint called in to the Mayor's Complaint office and a petition with 1 signer
and inspection of the walk.
EXISTIN�G CONDITIONS: This walk is old tile with tree heaves , broken tile, tripping .:
hazards and holes in the tile. �

to Nokomis Avenue.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petition with 1 signer (Church of St. Thomas-The Apostle) representing 100$ of the
frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with high joints , asphalt patches ,
cracked concrete panels and scaled, tipped and settled panels.
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK East side of MACKUBIN STREET from 150 feet north of
Wheelock Parkway to West Cottage Avenue and West side of MACKUBIN STREET at
1339 Mackubin Street.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works as public
necessity on the basis of 1 complaint and unable to maintain the existing walk.
EXISTING CONDITIOPJS: This walk is poured concrete with water pockets , asphalt patches ,
distintegrated and scaled panels. We asphalt extensively in 1979 but the asphalt is
breaking away already.
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK South side of COLLINS STREET ,from Desoto Street to East
0 feet.
INITIATING ACTIOtJ: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petltion with 1 signer for 6 lots representing 100� of the frontage and inspection
of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS : This walk had old tile which is missing for the most part.
Remarks: Al1 new housing in this area. Adjoins City Traffic Lane Project.
PROJECT: RECOIJSTRUCT SI�DEWALK Both side of NORTON STREET from Cook Avenue to north 181 ' .

of a petition with 2 signers representing 29`� of the frontage and inspection of the walk.

water pockets and disintegrated, cracked concrete panels , and scaled, tipped and
settled panels.
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK At the so�theasterly corner of VAN SLYKE AUENUE-COMO AVE.-
ARGYLE STREET at 99 Como Avenue (Lot 2, Block 6) and at 1150 Argyle Street (Lot l , Block� 6,
Warrendale) and also at 1190 Argyle Street (Lot 18, Block 6, Warrendale) .
INITtATING ACTIOtJ: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petition with 2 signers representing 95$ of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTttJG CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with high joi•nts , tripping hazards ,
water pockets , asphalt patches and cracked E scaled concrete panels. 2 panels are tree
heaved at 1190 Argyle.

hazards , asphalt patches and cracked and tipped panels.
PROJECT; RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK West side of N. ST. ALBANS STREET from Aritngton Avenue
to West Nebraska Avenue.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was initiated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
of a petition with 12 signers representing 100� of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with tree heaves , tripping hazards ,
water pockets , asphalt patches , disintegrated and cracked concrete panels.
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK North side of WEST MARYLAND AUENUE from Rice Street to
west 12 feet.
INITIATING ACTION: This order was initiated by the Director of f'ublic Works on the basis
of a petition with 1 signer representing 100� of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with asphalt patches and cracked and
settled panels.
Al1 18 orders have the following recommendation:
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS: Reconstruct sidewalk. On residential walk ,black dirt and seed
will be placed along the new walk.
ESTIMATING FI�dANCING: Public Improvement Aid Funds.
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION: The Engineering recommendations are for appro�al of the orders.
