BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul enter into an agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad Company and the
Commissioner ofi'fransportation for the installation and maintenance of railroad crossing signais at the intersection of Plato
Boulevard (MSAS 245) with the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad Company in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and appointing the
Commissioner of Transportation agent for the City to supervise said project and administer available Federal Funds in
accordance with Minnesota Statute, Section 161.36. The Cit�s share of the cost shall be 10 percent of the total signal cost.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and on
behalf of the City.

The Federal Highway Administration and the State of Minnesota have a program to improve safety at railroad crossings. This crossing has
been selected for safety unprovements under this program. Federal Funds will pay 90% of the cost and City MSA Funds will fund the
remaining 10%. The City's shaze is estimated to be $17,830.70. These funds aze available in adopted budget activiry C97-2T741 "Railroad
Crossing Progam."
