�' The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the above improvement, due notice
thereof having been given as prescribed by the City Charter; and '
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations pertaining to said proposed improve-
ment and has fully considered the same; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the above-described improvement
be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City officers shall calculate
all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

The Council of the City of St. Paul will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall and Court House (third floor) at 10:00 A.M. on July 15, 1980
on the advisability of proceeding with the Public Works Department recom�endation to
construct and/or reconstruct sidewalk on: �
West side of RICE STREET from Atwater Street to north 75 feet. '
Sidewalk reconstruction projects will be fiaanced without the levy of a local improve-

meat assessment. �
FbY first time sidewalk construction, where none aow eaists, the assessment rate for
one and two family property is proposed to be $5.00 per assessable foot for a 5-foot '
wide sidewalk.
First time sidewalk construction for all other properties will be assessed at actual
costs which are estimated as follows:
S-foot wide sidewalk $8.00 per assessable foot .
6-fodt wide side�walk $9.60 p�r assessable foot
In a�dition to the above, charges will be made for extra work which is a particular ,

Summary of Engineering Recommendation
Tuesday, July 15, 1980
ADVISABILITY AIJD DESIFtABILITY
PROJECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK West side of RICE STREET from Maryland Avenue to
north 120 feet.
IPJITIATIiVG ACTION: This order was initated by the Director of Public Works an the basis
of a petition with 1 signer representing 100% of the frontage and inspection of the walk.
EXISTING CONDITIONS: This walk is poured concrete with cracked concrete panels , scaled,
tipped and settled panels. Remarks : Reconstruct with integral curb.
PROJ ECT: RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALK West side of RICE STREET from Atwater to north 75 feet.
INITATING ACTION: This order was initated by the Director of Public Works on the basis
