An ordinance amending Chapter 425
of the St. Paul Legislative Code.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
Section 425. 05 (B) of the Saint Paul Legislative
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
B. Assault Weapons and Knives
, 1. In a motor vehicle only if the assault apon
or knife is placed in a secured containera�located
in the trunk of the vehicle; except if there is no
trunk the assault weapon or knife must be placed in a
secured container and placed in the farthest rear
portion of the vehicle.
2. Not in a motor vehicle only if the assault weapon
or knife is in a secured container and is being
carried between the home or business of the owner and
a motor vehicle, weapons dealer, hunting area, or an
officiallv recognized competition.
Section 2.
Section 425.11 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:

Any person violating any provision of this
chapter may be punished as provided by the
Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 500.05.
In addition, any firearm, assault weapon,
or knife in possession of such person et
� the-t�e-ef-a�eeh-vro�eetien and used or pos-
sessed in violation of statute or ordinance
shall be confiscated and sold, destroyed or
otherwise disposed of by the Department of
Police in accordance with St. Paul Adminis-
trative Code, Section 7. 02 (E) . Conviction
of any violation shall work an automatic
revocation of all registrations, permits,
and licenses held hereunder by the violator.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days after its passage, approval and publi-
cation. This ordinance shall have no effect on events
which occurred prior to its effective date.
