The City and the IInion agree to amend the 1999-2000 collective bargaining agreement as follows: If the Employer decides that an employee cannot successfully complete the probauonary period as provided by the Civil Service Rules, the employee shall be released from probation. However, if the Employer believes that an extension of the probationary period could result in the employee's successful completion of the probarionary period, the Employer and the Union may mutually agree to a limited extension of the probationary period not to exceed six (6) months. Such mutual agreement shall be reduced to writing for each individual employee. It is understood that the employee may be released from probation for any reason at any time during the extended probationary period and that the employee has no more right to appeal their release from probafion than they had during the inifial probationary peziod.
