RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 3.L
(Technical Group), by inserting the title of Deputy Liccnse Inspector III in
Grade 30; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the
attached class specification for Deputy License Inspector III.

DEPUTY LICENSE INSPECTOR III
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Performs supervisory and administrative work
involving the planning, organizing and directing of license inspection
and assists in license investigation; performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the general technical and administrative
supervision of a division head.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises within a unit close technical and adminis-
trative supervision directly over lower level technical employees.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMID
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in
this class.
Prepares and assigns work schedules for the Deputy License Inspectors.
Coordinates special investigative assigrnnents with the License Investigator;
assigns personnel to special investigations, seeks License Inspector�s
approval before assigning overtime.
Assists the License Investigator with processing Iiquor and bingo license
applications.
Assigns deputy inspectors to investigate complaints; investigates and
i;e�ol�ies complaints of a difficult, complex or controversial nature.
Prepares supporting documentation and writes ordinances relating to changes
with regard to licensing.
Appears before the License Committee or in court as an expert witness when
needed.
Coordinates the work of the deputy inspectors with that of the clerical staff.
KNOWLIDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of governmental ordinances, laws and regulations regarding business
licensing.
Knowledge of departmental policies, rules, regulations, functions, procedure
and organization.
Ability to determine priorities, plan and coordinate technical field work.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the general public and with
the owners and operators of co�ercial property.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
MINZMUM QUALIFICATIONS
T�ao years� experience as a Deputy License Inspector II or equivalent. Must
possess a Minnesota driver's license.
