00-790� ORIGINAL RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA � Referred to Presented By �� Committee: Date 1 WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and 2 Learning through the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission has 3 issued a Request for Proposals to local units of government for 4 Youth Enrichment Grants to design, furnish, equip, renovate or 5 replace parks and recreation facilities including soccer fields; 6 and S9 11 12 13 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Division of Parks and Recreation is an eligible applicant and the Division of Parks and Recreation wishes to submit a grant application for the following program, to wit McDonouah Recreation Center Soccer Fields - A development project which will upgrade the current soccer area to permanent field status and add a second permanent field; and 14 WHEREAS, the Division of Parks and Recreation documented the 15 need for additional soccer £ields in Saint Paul and gave the 16 proposal to upgrade the existing field at McDOnough Recreation 17 Center to permanent status and add a second permanent field its 18 most favorable rating in the report, Soccer 2000, published in 19 February, 2000; and 20 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Division of Parks and 21 Recreation accepts the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission's 22 terms as outlined in the Notice of Request for Proposals; and 23 WHEREAS, the above mentioned proposed application to the 24 Youth Enrichment Grants program requires the participation of the 25 City of Saint Paul, Division of Parks and Recreation as the unit 26 of local government and a resolution by the local government to 27 apply for funding; now, therefore, 28 BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Saint Paul authorizes the 29 proper City officials to submit the following grant application, 30 to wit 31 McDonoucrh Recreation Center Soccer Fields ($99,000); and 32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and 33 Recreation will serve as the official liaison with the Minnesota 34 Amateur Sports Commission for the purposes of administering the 35 above mentioned grant project; and Council File # �p�1q0 Green Sheet # �Q��'Q �ORIGINAL 36 BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that 37 the Minnesota Amateur Sports 38 including project budget will 39 review and approval. upon any said project approval by Commission, a specific resolution be submitted for City Council Divi on of Parks By "�.��.'^ V "� Requested by: Adopted by Council: Date .
