Co il e lution Presented By • Referred To Committee: Date � Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Capital Improvement Budget and Program, as proposed for 1982, provides for the replacement of the deteriorated concrete deek, sidewalk and railings on the existing LEXINGTON AVENUE BRIDGE over the tracks of the Burlington Northern Railway Company, said bridge known as Bridge No. 5583; and further provides for removal of the deteriorated and delaminated concrete roadway wearing surface and replacement with dense low-slump concrete on the existing LEXINGTON AVENUE BRIDGE over Pierce Butler Road, said bridge known as Bridge No. 7276; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to increase the width of the roadway on Bridge No. 5583 and that section of road between Bridge No. 5583 and Bridge No. 7276, from the existing width of 40 feet to a width of 44 feet which will ma.tch the width that exists and will remain on Bridge No. 7276; and WHEREAS, the proposed width does not conform to current Municipal State Aid Standards, but because the Department of Public Works has determined that the projected traffic count is not deemed sufficient to necessitate the expensive substructure widening which would be required to further increase the roadway width on the bridge; be it therefore RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to seek a variance from the Municipal State Aid Standards for this project.
