Pledging support of the City of St. Paul in the United States Savings Bond Progr�m
and urging participation by City employees in the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan.
WHEREAS, the United States Savings Bond Program continues to play an
important role in the financing of our government and in the sound management
of the public debt; and
WHEREAS, by promoting thrift the Savings Bond Program contributes to
the economic security of individual families and helps to control inflationary
pressures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
St. Paul:
That it reaffirms its continuous support of the United States Savings Bond
Program in general and of the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan in specific and
urges all City employees to participate in this thrift-oriented program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and all department heads be
urged to assume a role of leadership during the Ninth Annual United States Savings
Bond campaign for City employees in April, so the employees may be rnade aware
of this opportunity to joi.n the plan.
