Supervision Received: Works under the general technical and administrative supervision of a Recreation Director III: Supervision Exercised: Exercises within a unit close technical and admin- istrative supervision over pool managers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMID The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Manages Qxford Pool during the winter season. Plans for suuuner program during winter season. Supervises the pool and beach managers during the suu�mer season. Recruits, hires and trains swimming pool and beach staffs; works with the Personnel Office on staff testing procedures. Insures that the City's swimming programs are run in a safe and responsible manner; investigates all accidents and takes necessary action to prevent future occurrences. Approves time reports; checks bank deposits and insures that they are made in a timely and accurate manner. . Arranges swimming lesson programs; investigates and implements new activities at pool.s. Recruits pool users; makes contacts with schools, recrea.tion centers, civic groups, and swimming organizations. Works with AAU and others in setting up competitive swim progra.ms. Works with the Red Cross on clinics and training sessions. Inspects facilities for health and safety hazards; initiates action for facility repairs and improvements; oversees above improvements to outdoor facilities during off season. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of f irst aid supplies and pracedures. Working knowledge of swimming pool systems. General knowledge of pool chemicals and treatment. Considerable skill in teaching and directing recreationa.l and athletic activities. Considerable skill in operating recreational equipment. Working ability to deal tactfully and eff iciently with the general public especially younger people. Working ability to plan, organize and delegate work. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS �relve-hundred hours of experience as a Swimming Pool Supervisor or equivalent; or two years' experience as Recreation Leader Illicant�mustepossesspcurrent as a Water Safety Instructor or Lif e Guard.
