An administrative Resolution amending the Civil
Service Rules cancerning transfers.
RESOLVED, that tlie Civil Service Rules be amended in Section
' 17.B so that said Section 17.B shall read as follows:
"B. T ran sfe r shall be allowed arily whe re the examination upon
which appointment of an employee was based was of a
character and standard to test the fitness of such employee
for the position to which it is proposed to make the transfer
and where the minimum qualifications of the positions are
substantially similarr ; or where the position to which the
employee is to be transferred is in a classification in which
the employee to be transferred has previously held a re�ular
appointment. '� .

ACTION REQUESTEA
We recommend your approval and submission of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
Resolution amending Section 16.E of the Civil 5ervice Rvles concerning
Volvntary Reduction.
The purpose of this Resolution is to allow employees to take voltmtary
reductions to positions in classifications in which they have previously
demonstrated their ability to perform by having qualified in the examination,
having been appointed, and having served the City under such titles.
