WI�REAS, the Housing Information Office merged into the Department of Plauniug and Economic
Development as part of the budget process for fiscal year 2000, and is now part of the Planning and Economic
4 Development payroll and management process; and
6 WHEREAS, the Housing Informafion Center operates like the Business Resource Center and coordinates its efforts
7 with PED and other City Departments and Divisions; and
9 WHEREAS, the Housing Information Center has begun cross training and now assasts the Home Loan funcrion of
10 Pluuiing Economic Development in the process of rehab loans; and

12 WHEREAS, the Housing Information Center continues to provide Mortgage Foreclosure prevention counseling and
13 loans and will help more than 200 Saint Paul residents work to keep their homes this year; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Housing Inforniation Center has begun establishing a Housing Data Center to provide current
16 statistical and societal information related to housing; and
17
18 WHEREAS, the Housing Information Center continues to act as the city's liaison with Emergency Shelters and
19 orguiizations serving the homeless and works to prevent homelessness through administration of the Emergency
20 Shelter Grant program; and
