WHEREAS, the Saint Paul 4Jinter Carnival Association and the Eastern Minnesota
Speedskating Association have hosted the National Outdoor Speedskating Championship
since inception over three decades, and will host the 1982 championship meet, and
dJHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is the site of the greatest winter festival in
the United States, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival , and
�JHEREAS, the National Outdoor Speedskating Championship attracts participants
in the hundreds, plus their families and friends, and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul desires to open "its doors" to all our friends
and neighbors throughout the country, now, therefore, be it,
�ESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul extends an invitation to the Amateur
Skating Union of the United States (A.S.U. ) to conduct the 1984 event in Saint
Paul , and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul , through the Mayor and City
Council , will provide assistance within its power and resources to provide the
A.S.U. with the best possible meet ever.
