WHEREAS, Richard E. Schroeder has been a city employee since July, 1973, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder has been the city' s Budget Director since 1974 and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder always exhibited a truly citywide concern when making
budget recommendations and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder provided strong leadership in developing all aspects
of the city' s budget functions and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder has played a significant role in holding annual budget
increases below the rate of inflation, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder is highly respected by all persons associated with
budget decision-making, not only as an experienced leader but also as a
colleague who was fair and friendly to all who had the opportunity to work
with him, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder has decided to retire to a life of relaxation and new
opportunities for self-fulfillment, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of Mayor George Latimer that the i�ayor
and City Council members, on their own behalf and on behalf of the taxpayers
of Saint Paul express their respect and appreciation to Mr. Schroeder for his
service to the city, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council do hereby extend their best
wishes to Dick for his continued success in all his future endeavors.
