General Statement of Duties: Performs highly responsible professional work
preparing plans, evaluations and studies of health needs and services;
and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Public
Health Services Manager.
Supervision Exercised: May exercise within the unit general supervision
over professional, technical and clerical program staff.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in

. Coordinates the development of the Community Health Services Plan for the
Division of Public Health.
Researches community health needs and resource problems.
Prepares health needs inventories.
Assists program managers in developing plans and evaluation methods.
Assists planners from the Department of Planning and Economic Development
on health related issues.
Monitors federal and state health legislation.
Prepares plans, studies and reports. ,
Assists in the management and coordination of the Division`s grants.
Researches the availability of federal, state and private grant sources.
Assists District Councils in planning for health concerns.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of principles, practices, techniques and purposes of
health planning.
Thorough knowledge of community agencies and resources.

We recommend your approval and submission of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
This R.esolution establishes the ta.tl.e and class specificati.ons for Healtli
��sly$t in Grade 13 of Secti.on 3. J (Professional-Administrati.ve Non-
Supervisors) in the Civil Service Rules.
This class will be responsible for developing tlze Commun.ity Health
Services Plan and providing related planning and evaluati.on services.
The bi-weekly salary for Grade 13 is as follows: '
