00-687Council File # 00 • rig�] ORIG4NAL Presented Sy Referred To WHEREAS, the Counci{ of ihe City of Saint Paul previously (ound that the aforementioned residential area did not have sufficient off street parking to sccommodate the residential parking needs of the residents as well as the parkinq needs of non-residents who use non-residential facilities in the area which lack sufficient off-street parking; and � WHEREAS, pursuant to Council File #86-1124, residential permit parking was previously instituted on behalf of 2 the residents residing in the University of St. Thomas College area in accordance with Chapter 168 of the Saint Paul 3 Legislative Code; and 9 WHEREAS, affected residents have subsequently submitted petitions requesting that certain permit parking 10 restrictions be removed from these blocks; 11 12 WHEREAS, Pubiic Works staff has investigated the basis for the petition and concluded and recommended 13 adoption of the changes requested in the petition; �4 15 fVOW 7HEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following parking regulations shall be revised in the residential 16 area near the University of St. Thomas as follows: 17 � 8 i. Revise parking regulations reading 'Except by Permit or unless otherwise posted, No parking 19 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, Area 24 to No Parking Except by Permit, Area 24 on the following street: 20 2i North side of Summft Avenue from Cretin Avenue to Mississippi River Boulevard. 22 23 BE IT FINALLY RESQLVED, that these parking regulations will be in effect and be enforced thirry (30} days after 24 City Council approval.
