W�, THE City entered into an agreement witlz certain developers whereby the
City would construct an underground parking ramp as an induc�it for develo�xnent of
air rights above this facility, and.
W�REA�S, the City has agreed in one of the develo�,anent agreesrnxits to sell up to
200 contuzuing monthly parking permi.ts tA o�nmers of condo�niniiuns built on air rights,
without reservation of spaces, on a first car�, first served basis, with the general
public using the parking r� on an hourly or daily basis, and
V�, there exists a substantial deqna.nd fran other developers who have built
on the air rights at this facility for cca�q�arable permi.ts, and
WE�REAS, the City is actively seeking solutions to parking problems through
pricing programs, managemexlt and operational policies, pravision of inexpensive
fringe parking facilities and free shuttle service, and
Wf�REAS, the Parking Ce�mission has sttbdied the proble�n and receHm��d.s the
following operational policy for the facility:
l. No rrore than 300 m�nthly pernaits be issued.
2. These permi.ts be limit�ed to no mpre than one per occupied living unit
and tw� per occupied office on a first ccare, first served basis.
3. The rate be adjusted to be consistent with other oarq�arable parking
facilities.
NO'W TI�'ORE BE IT RESOLUED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and direct�ed to provide continuing m�nthly parking pennifis to occupants of facilities
located within the air rights locat.ed above the mounicipal parking ramp. Th�ese permi-ts
should be issued prior to the issuance of any other nx�nthly parking L�xnu-ts outside
the develo�ar�xit, ar�cl
