An Administration Resolution concerning certain
Class Specifications in the Civil Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by striking from
Section 32 the Class Specification for the title of Senior Mechanical Inspector;
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended
in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the attached Class
Specifications for the titles of Seniox Mechanical Inspector-Pipefitter and
Senior Mechanical Inspector-Sheet Metal.

We recommend your approval and submission of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
This Resoluti.on esta.blishes the class specifications for the new ti.tles
of Senior Mechanical Inspector-Pipefitter and Senior Mechanical
Inspector-Sheet Metal. It also abolishes the class specification for
the title of Senior Mechanical Inspector.
The plain ti.tle of 5enior Mechanical Inspector combined the duti.es
of Pipefitti.ng and Sheet Meta1 inspection. These duties are now being
divided according to t1�.eir respecti.ve jurisdicti.ons, and separate
class specifications are being established. The separated titles were
established earlier and were included in the respecti.ve Union Contracts
in May, 1980.
