WI�REAS, The Council of the City of Saint Paul, in accordance with Ordinance
No. 15311 and following the public hearing held on March 6, 1981, did adopt a
Resolution, Council File No. 276�+70, establish the level o� street maintenance
service to be performed in the City of 5aint Paul, and the estimated amount of
service chaxges to be levied against benefited property, the work to be performed
in 1981, and the charges to be collected with the regular taxes in 1982; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works ha.s performed the approved street
maintenance work and submitted its report together with the total cost of street
maintenance in the amount of $5,565,000.00; and
WHEREAS, The City Council, by Resolution, Council File No. 276470, deter-
mined that the City sha,ll pay the sum of $1,295,000.00 of the street maintenance
costs from: Municipal State Aid $753,000•4�, Trunk Highway Maintena.nee Aid
$195,000.00, County Aid $3�+7,000.00, and that the rema,ining amount of $�+,270,000.00
shall be assessed a�ainst benefited properties, and further resolved, that a
public heaxing be held in the Council ehambers on October 27, 1981, for the
purpose of adopting the service chaxges against all benefited properties; and
W�S, The Council of the City of Saint Pau1 did hold a public hearing on
October 27, 1981, for this purpose, and, having heard al1 interested parties,
does hereby adopt the following service charges in accordance with Chapter 14 of
the City Charter and said Ordinance No. 15311, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt and
levy the following service charges as a special assessment against benefited
properties:
Cla.ss I - Downtown-$1.50 per front foot.
Class II - Outlying Commercial and Arterial Streets
Commercial Froperty-$1.02 per front foot.
Residential Property-$ .50 per front foot.

able in a single installment.

passed on the day of the public hearing.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Allow collection of $4,270,000.00 Maintenance Costs.
