An administrative Resolution establishing the
title and class specification for Custodial Supervisor--
Civi.c Center in the Civil Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section
3.H (Maintenance Supervisors - Ungraded), by inserting in proper
alphabetical order the title of Custodial Supervisor--Civic Center; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the
attached class specification for Custodial Supervisor--Civic Center.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Supervises the care and cleaning of the
Civic Center Complex and supervises the layout and setup of various
equipment and apparatus needed in conjunction with the various events
held in the Civic Center Complex; and performs related work as assigned.
Supervision Received: Works under the general administrative direction of
a division or department head.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises wittiin a division or department immediate
or close technical supervision over custodial personnel in the Civic
Center Complex.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by a11 positions in

Supervises the work involved in the general maintenance and custodial
duties in the Civic Center Compiex and surrounding grounds.
Supervises the work involved in setting up or taking down bleachers, risers,
hockey dasher boards, boxing and wrestling setups, basketball caurts,
tables, chairs, ticket booths, portable stands, ice floor cover, and
other related items and equipment.
Assigns work to crews and prepares work schedules.
Arranges for equipment as required for the various events.

We recommend your approval and submission of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
This Resolution establishes the title and class specification for Custodial Supervisor--
Civic Center. This title will eventually replace the current title of Civic Center
Foreman. Section 3.H (Maintenance Supervisors - Ungraded�
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This . 56 per hour increase amounts to $1, 164, 80 per year for each full time employee.'
There are currently Lwo full time employees, therefore, the increased coet amounts to
$2, 329. 60 per year.
The position of Operations Director--Civic Center which was eliminated in 1978 was
paying an ann�al salary of $25, 565.
