WHEREAS, as President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO since 1966 his
dedication has been dixected to impxoving the compensation and
working conditions of all woxking men and women in Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, his community and civic service is interwoven towards many
gxoups including the University of Minnesota Board of Regents,
Metxopolitan Airports Commission, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and
Homeward Bound, and
WHEREAS, the quality of life in the cities and towns of Minnesota
and the United States has been enhanced and strengthened. by this
individual, and
WHEREAS, the directness, honesty, integrity and realism of this
individual have been his greatest assets and principles, and
WHEREAS, on Sunday, October 18, 1981, International B'Nai B'rith
will bestow the American Traditions Award to David K. Roe, now
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of St. Paul acclaim the superior quality of
Dave Roe, and be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby declare October 18, 1981, as
David K. Roe Day in St. Paul.
