zoning maps thereof.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 462. 357 and � 64.210 I
of the Legislative Code, the Church of St. Cecelia duly petitioned �
to rezone Except Northeasterly 1/2; Lot 14 and all of Lot 13, Block
76, St. Anthony Park, located on the west side of Bayless between �!
Pearl and Cromwell for the purpose of converting the for�ner St.
Cecelia' s School to five condominium units, the petition having
been certified by the Department of Finance and Management Services ,
on September 8, 1981 as having been consented to by at least 67a �
o£ the owners of the area of the property to be rezoned, and further
having been consented to by at least two-thirds of the owners of the
property situated witlzin 100 feet of the total contiguous de-
scriptions of real estate held by the same owner or any party '
purchasing any such contiguous property within one year preceding �
the date of the petition; and !

WHEREAS, The current Zoning Coa-nmittee on October 15, 1981 ,
conducted a public hearing for the purpose of considering the re- ',
zoning petition, and pursuant to Section 107 . 03 of the Administra- ',
tive Code, submitted its recoznmendation to the Planning Commission �
that the petition be granted; and '
T�IHEREAS, The Planning Commission considered the rezoning
petition at its meeting held on October 23, 1931 and recommended '
that the City Council approve the petition; and I
[^?HEREAS, Notice of a public hearing before the City Council
on the said rezoning petition was duly published in the official i

Dear Sir:
This letter is written in response to the petition of the Church of
St. Cecelia (Gregory Page) to rezone property at 921 Bayless (west side
between Pearl and Cromwell ) from R-4 (single family residential ) to RP1-2
(multi-family residential ) to convert the former school to 5 condominium
units.
On October 15, 1981 , the Zoning Committee conducted a public hearinq.
The District Council submitted a letter in support of the rezoning. A
property owner at 944 Cromwell testified in support. The Committee voted
6 to 0 to recommend approval of �he rezoning.
On October 23, 1981 , the Planning Commission voted 19 to 0 to approve the
rezoning.
The requested rezoning is scheduled to be heard by the City Council on
December 3, 1981 . Please notify me by December 2 if any member of the
City Council wishes to have slides of the site presented at the public
hearing.

At its regular monthly meeting, October 1�, the District 12
Council discussed the proposed rezoning of the St . Cecilia
School property at 9�1 Bayless from R-4 to RPS-2. The Council
voted to support the rezoning. '
Two particular concerns were expressed in the discussion --
the need for some parking to Ue included �vith the plans for
the property and the possible uses of the site if 2,ir. Gregory '
Page does not pick up the option to purchase the building and
convert it into condominiums. �he community is very much in '
. favor of the increased housin� that �vill be available through
the remodeling of the building into condominium units of size
� proposed by hir. Page. �
