We recommend your approval and submiss�.o� of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATTONALE FOR THIS ACTION
This Resolution will revise th.e mi.nimum qualifications for the class of
Plumber Foreman to require possession of a Master Plumberts License.
- This requirement will permit the Independent School District No. 625 to
obtain Building Pe rmits for plumbing work.

PLUMBER FOREMAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to supervise, assign, and to perform the plumbing ork
involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas, caateX,
and sewer systems, and all fittings and accessories; and to perforia
related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed: +
To supervise, assign, and perform the work involved in the installati0n,
maintenance, and repair of gas, water, and sewer systems, the inst�lla-
tion and repair of water pipes, fire hydrants, valves, bathroom and
toilet facilities, kitchen sinks, laundry equipment, gas ranges, a�d
all accessories and fittings. ,
To supervise and perform lead pipe work and the work involved in the driping
of joints and tfie installation and repair of iron, copper, brass, 1ead,
ar other pipes and fittings.
To estimate quantities of materials needed.
To make reports and recommendations.
To keep records of materials, supplies, employees, and work performed,
riinimum qualif ications:
High school graduation and possession of a certificate evidencing the
completion of training as an apprentice plumber and three yearst
experience as a journeyman plumber; or sevea years` experience as
a journeyman plumber. Must possess a certificate of competency
issued by the City of St. Paul. In addition to the above, applicarlts
for a vacancy in Independent School District No. 625 must possess a
master plumber license issued by the State of Minnesota and a mast�r
plumber certificate of competency issued by the City of St. Paul wi;thin
one year of appointment.
