CLAIMS AGAINST CITY OF SAINT PAUL
BY GORDON E. PAGE AND CLEMENT J.
BARNARD
Claimant, Gordon E. Page, was involved in an automobile accident
with a City of Saint Paul, Department of Police, vehicle on
September 11, 1981. The City vehicle was driven by Officer
Stoterau. Expenses are for the repair of the damaged vehicle.
This office approves the settlement of Mr. Page 's claim in the
amount of $99 .60 .
ClaLmant, Clement J. Barnard, requests reimbursement for damages
to his automobile which occurred when he drove over a loose man-
hole cover on July 24 , 1981, near 5aint Paul Avenue and Worchester.
The City of Saint Paul, Sewer Maintenance Division, check the covers
near this location and stated that it was possible with the heavy ,
rainfall that air pressure built up under the cover and it was ,
loose when Mr. Barnard drove over it. The Sewer Department re- '
placed the solid cover with a slotted one. This office approves ,
the settlement of Mr. Barnard's claim in the amount of $118 .43,
which is half the amount requested by Mr. Barnard.
