An administrative Resolution amending the Civil
Service Rules concerning eligible lists.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in the first
paragraph of Section 7, so that said paragraph shall read as follows:
" 7 The names of all applicants who pass the examination shall be
placed on an eligible list in the order of their examination
ratings, and shall remain on the list until they are hired or

, applicant's scores are equal to the scores of anyone certified
under Section 8.A of these Rules, their names shall also be
certified. In the case of an open continuous examination, all
applicants who pass the examination can be certified in accord-
ance with Section 8 of these Rules as if there was a new
examination for such title each day. The names of those not
immediately employed shall be placed on an eli�ible re�ister
in the order of their scores. "

We recommend your approval and submission of this Resolution to the City Council.
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
This Resolution amends Section 7, lat Paragraph, in the Civil Service Rules. The
purpose is to expedite the filling of vacant positions in those areas in which a shortag
of qualified applicants exists.
