in Moss' Outlots in Holcombe's Addition
Addendum to Report of June 9, 1981
The Department of Planning and Economic Develapment now requests that
eight (8) feet less of the subject alley be vacated. This request has
been noted in the reco�nendation for said vacation in iqy report to
City Council. �
The general description for the said a11ey shauld now read as 20 feet
wide and 152 feet long; and the proposed vacation area will consist of
3;O�+U squaxe feet.
The legal description to be used for the proposed new ded.icated alley
shall be as follows, to wit:
The East ei ght (8.0) feet of I,ot four (�); and
The West twelve (12.0) feet o� Lot �ve (5); and
All that part of the West half (1�2) of Lot f�ve (5),

for the vacation of a portion of public alley as platted
in Moss' Outlots in Holcambe's Addition
Public Hearing - June 23, 1981
The Hausing and Redevelopment Authority and the Co�nnunity Development
Corporation for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Mi.nneapolis have
petitioned for the referenced vacation in order to provide for the
development of 7�+ hausing units. This improved alley proposed for
vacation is 20 feet wide by 160 feet long, consisting of 3,200 square
feet and lies between RM-2 and B-2 zoning.
The Depaxtment of Public Works has reviewed the proposed vacation and
has no objections subject to the dedication of a replacement alley.
The restrictions for this new alley will be in the recoBm►endation
portion of this report.
Northern States Power Compar�y reports one NSP Company owned pole with
overhead and underground conductors and one Northwestern Bell Telephone
Company awned pole with overhead conductors attached. There axe no
existing gas distribution facilities in this axea. They wish to
contirnze their utility easements in this a11ey.
Northwestern Bell Telephone Company has a buried cable into this alley
from St. Albans Street serving this block and they wish to continue
their utility ease,ment in this a11ey.
The Department of Planning and Econarnic Development has reviewed the
proposed vacation and has no objections.
There were no other objections or reco�endations from ar�y other public
or private agencies involved.
In view of the foregoing, I reco�nend that the vacation be approved,
subject to the following terms and conditions:
l. That the description of the alley to be vacated

conditions of Chapter 130, codified Ma.rch 1, 1981,
of the St. Pau1 Legislative Code, including the
retention of all public utilities easements.
