LeMAY On February 13 , 1982 , a Saint Paul Police vehicle driven by Fred Slemmons was stopped on Edgecombe for a stop sign. Claimant, Michael O'Claire, was westbound on Montreal and had the right of way. Officer Slemmons pulled away from the stop sign to prepare for a left turn and because of the extremely high snow banks could not see Mr. O'Claire until he was in the intersection. Mr. O'Claire tried to avoid the collision but was unable to do so and their vehicles collided. Damages to Mr. O'Claire 's vehicle amounted to $1,754 .00 . This office approves the settlement of Mr. 0 'Claire 's claim in the amount of $1, 754 .00 . Claimant, Erickson Construction, Inc. , requests reimbursement for extra work performed under contract to the City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works . Due to a surveying error, Erickson Construction was required to perform extra work. This office approves the settlement of Erickson Construction's claim in the amount of $1 ,035.00 . The Saint Paul Sewer Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works informed Edward LeMay that the boulevard cave-in which was in front of his home was caused by r4r. LeMay 's private sewer service connection. The Sewer Department told Mr. LeMay that his service was defective and it was his responsibility to repair it. Mr. LeMay contracted with a plumbing company to dig up his sewer, open it and examine it for holes . When this was done, the contractor and City inspector could find nothing wrong with the sewer and the hole was refilled. The bill from the plumbing company for this owrk was $700 .00 . The City of Saint Paul has settled with Mr. LeMay for $700 .00 . This office approves the settlement of Mr. LeMay 's claim in the amount of $700 .00 . ���°m��,:��
