Subject: Petition of the Cit�y of Saint Paul for the vacation of
Lot 6, Block 3, He sey-Woolsey Addition except t2�t part
bein� used for street purposes.
Public Hearing - �ne 22, 1982
The subject property was purcY�a.sed at the request of the Department of Public
Works for street right-of way ( ierce Butler Road) and conveyed to the City
by warranty deed in 1957. It nia�r has been declared surplus to the needs of
the City The lot would be so to the abutting property awner, who was
the original awner, for parkin and returned to the ta.x rolls. The area
to be vacated consists of 1,35 square feet and is zoned I-1 (Industry).
This property is located in City Council District #1 and Citizen Partici-
pation District #11.
The Department of Public Works s reviewed the proposed zracation and reports
it has no objection to it.
The Depa.rtment of Planning and conomic Development has reviewed this vacation
and finds no objection to the cation as proposed.
There were no objections or rec rr�endations from ar�y public or priva.te agencies
involved.
In view of the foregoing, I rec end that the vacation be approved, subject
to the following terms and cond'tions:

conditions of Chapter 130, codified I�,rch l, 1981,
of the St. Paul Legislative Code, as amended,
- including the retention of all public utilities
easements.
� �3: That the said pr�perty ma.y be offered for sale to
the abutting pro rty vGrner in accordance with Chapter
51 of the City o St. Paul Administrative Code for the
selling price of $3,000.00.
3 � That the petitio er being the City of Saint Paul, shall
not be required o pay compensa.tion or post a bond.
I flirther recommend that�the pr rer City officials be authorized to convey
said property to the eventual p chaser by quit claim deed when the full
_ amount of the purchase price ha been paid to the City of Saint Paul.
