An ordinance pertaining to the regulation of
taxicabs in the City of Saint Paul and the posting
of fares; amending the St. Paul Legislative Code,
Sections 418.09, 418. 11 and 418. 12.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That Section 418.09, clause (6) of the St. Paul Legislative
Code be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
(6) There shall be conspicuously displayed in the
compartment of the taxicab occupied by the
passenger and on the outside right and left
rear doors of the taxicab a printed card or
sign showing the rate of fare charged, as
hereinafter provided.
Section 2.
That Section 418. 11, Subdivision 4 of the St. Paul
Legislative Code be and the same hereby is amended to read
as follows:
Subd. 4. Soheduled rates only. No licensee,
driver, employee or member of any such association
shall charge any e��e� rate for the carrying of
passengers in any licensed taxicab ��a�t in excess
of that set forth in Section 418. 15, and any
deviation from such schedule by the licensee
or any employee or member of such association
shall constitute a violation of this chapter.

Section 3.
That Section 418. 12, Subdivision 3 of the St. Paul
Legislative Code be and the same hereby is amended to read
as follows:
Subd. 3. Register of taxi-meter visible to passenger.
Every taxi-meter shall be connected and affixed to
the taxicab so that the amount of fare determined
and charged for its use shall be plainly visible to
all passengers or occupants of the taxicab and from
one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise
shall have the face of said taxi-meter illumined so
as to make plainly visible the amount of the fare
determined and charged for its use, and there shall
be posted in a conspicuous place in the inside of
the taxicab and on the outside right and left rear
doors of the taxicab a card on which shall be
printed in plain, legible type, the rates of fare
provided for herein and reference to the ordinance
by number.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30
days from and after its passage, approval and publication.
