WHEREAS, The Board of Water Commissioners has an interest in
the pending NSP electric rate hearings and has requested the
appointment of Special Counsel to assist in presenting its case
at the Public Utilities Commission hearings; and
WHEREAS, The City Attorney has requested the appointment of
Thomas J. Stearns as Special Counsel to represent the Board at
these hearings and the Board requests that the City Council
concur in this recommendation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council does hereby concur in the appoint-
ment of Thomas J. Stearns as Special Counsel to represent the
interests of the Board of Water Commissioners at the pending
electric rate proceedings, his compensation to be paid from
Board funds .
