�•]HEREAS, the late Roy �^?ilkins dedicated his life to justice
and ec�ual rights for minorities, serving as Executive Director of the
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for twentv-two
years- and
t�IHEREAS, Roy Wilkins resided in the City of Saint Paul during
his early years �-- attending Mechanic Arts Nigh School and the University
of Pninnesota; and
�JHEREAS, Roy [�7ilkins has been an inspiration to Black people
in Saint paul and in the nation; and -
�°?HEREAS, the City of Saint Paul seeks to recognize the
achieveraents of Roy ln7ilkins;
EF IT RESOLVED, that an ad hoc Roy Wilkins '
Memorial Task Force be established to study the feasibility of a fitting
Roy Vdilkins memorial and report its findings to the ]�Zayor and (�ity Council
within 90 days from the date of Council approval of this resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVLD, that the following persons are approved
as members of the Rov �•]ilkins ' Memorial Task Force Committee:
