I request that this m�ney be returned to the City Wide Data Proc�essing's budget to help cover the remvnder of the 1982 expenciitures. We are currently settirig � our co�munications netwark with the Prime C.o��uter. This will include Visual Display TernLUZals (CTtT's) in the Fire Departr�.nt, Planning arxi Ecorbomic Develogrent, Coam�aanity Services- Housing, and Personnel. We are also purchasing t-Prminals for' our City Wide Data Proc�essing staff. This mc�ney is needed t�o wver sca�ie of these start-up oosts as well as tt�e oontinuing cost at R��msey County Data Processing (RC�P) . T'hese �sts at RC�P will continue tA diminish for the re�nainder of 1982 and through 1983. Thi.s is the result of co�uter syst�ns being trans- ferred first by City Wide Data Processing tA its Prime Cce►�uter, and the.n by the Police Departtrent to their proposed �uter. These funds were restricted to insure that the proper planning would occur. The second part of this resolution appropriates an additional $25,000 to �he data processing bud5et to address the "networking" needs of the City and to address the needs of the City Council.
